Christopher Orlet examines a tension within atheist or humanist circles in this insightful article at American Spectator. While the North Woods is not over run by rampant atheism, the trickle-down effect of ideas does make its way even into our communities. While we probably do not need an official program to counter militant atheism, it is helpful to remain informed, since the media tend to propagate these ideas in subtle ways. Everything from the DaVinci Code to the Jesus Tomb are mean to spread a culture of doubt, not of faith. Even shepherds in the woods need to be able to protect their flocks from the wolves.
