The Drip, Drip, Drip of Apostacy

Gradually some Christians are trading their faith and heritage for worthless ideologies and even anti-Christian religions. FrontPage Magazine relates how various Christian groups are joining in observing Ramadan in order to protest Western Imperialism. The question is, who will participate in this step toward islamicizing Christianity? Will there be Lutherans who will join. If they do, are they still Lutherans? Christians?

How Many of Our Youth Would Make the Good Confession?

We hear about pressure and persecution of Christians in Egypt (our friends in the Middle East). The systemic nature of such persecution is beyond the experience of most Christians in the USA. Here is a story about two young Copts who refuse to deny their faith. While confirmands promise to do the same, do they realize that there can be consequences beside lots of presents and a party?

A Good Reason to Send Kids to a Lutheran School

Stanley Kurtz at National Review Online documents and describes how the Saudis have gotten control of the portrayal of Islam in our K-12 systems. This is a must read. A foreign government, a hostile religion, a fascist ideology is promoted and protected in our public schools. And it’s all abetted by the leftist PC crowd whose hatred for Christianity will cause them to lie down with any dog, no matter how many fleas he has.

Check Out What the Jet Stream Is Bringing Our Way

An article at World Net Daily points to the real dangers for Christians embedded in hate laws. What is happening in Canada is quite disturbing.

Disturbing to me was the following note in the article:

Madison, Wisconsin. David Ott, a former homosexual, was arrested for a “hate crime” for sharing his testimony with a homosexual at a gas station. He faced a $10,000 fine and one year behind bars. Seven thousand dollars in legal fees later, [he] was ordered to attend re-education classes at the University of Wisconsin conducted by a lesbian.

When Madison is jokingly referred to as the People’s Republic of Madison, it has a painful ring of truth to it.

A Highjack-ed or Highjack-ing Religion

World News Daily has posted an interesting article about the memorial in Pennsylvania which is crescent shaped. It is designed to point to Mecca. The memorial is to commemorate the passengers and crew of the airplane which crashed there because the passengers fought back. It almost seems like the First Amendment is being jettisoned and replaced by Sharia law.

Co-Opting Luther

Mark Tooley refutes the claims of a USA Today writer that Martin Luther would have embraced homosexual marriage and ordination of practicing gays. Check out this article at FrontPage Magazine.

Our Silence Is Deafening

Front Page Magazine calls to our attention, as have other sources, the plight of Christians in Iraq. Why is it that the mainstream media and religious leaders make so little note of it? Moslems burn and pillage over cartoons. Christians are murdered, their property destroyed, their churches desecrated and all we hear is . . . silence. Where’s the outrage? Where is our government who went in to stop cruelty and now subsidizes the cruelty of Muslims against Christians?

Will Michael Moore teach theology?

World Net Daily reports on Michael Moore’s comments on Jesus and homosexuality. Moore may apparently do a new “documentary” on Jesus and issues of sexuality. Columnist Joseph Farah hits it on the head when he notes that Moore doesn’t really care about what Jesus teaches, but Moore knows that millions of Americans do, so he will distort what Jesus says in order to dupe people.

Harmonic Convergence in Political Realm?

Those who came of age in the 60s may remember Fairfield, Iowa as the home of Parsons College — a destination of choice for draft-dodgers of various stripes. After the college closed, it was taken over by the followers of an Indian guru.

Fast forward 40 years and it is the focus of politicians seeking support. In the past, the Maharishi University has put forth third, fourth, or fifth party candidates for various offices under the Natural Law Party. Beside the yogic technology to prevent terrorism, there have been attempts to initiate world peace through meditation and the so-called harmonic convergence.

Apparently the right catalysts have come to town: Barak Obama and Dennis Kucinich. An article describing this decisive moment in political history notes the yogic flying practiced at MU. For those not in the know, participants get themselves into the state of being able to defy gravity. To us unenlightened it looks more like hopping in the lotus position.

This is a strange world we live in. Will the strangeness take center stage in American politics?

Another Epistle from a Possible Future

Lars Walker of the Free Lutheran Church has obtained another epistle from the Rev. Dr. Judith Hardanger-Hansen, archbishop of the American Archdiocese of the Lutheran Companionship of the Benevolent Deity Spiritual Movement (BDSM). This epistle deals with the gender make up of the “church” in the second decade of this century. While humorous, it is unsettling—a bit too close to the truth for comfort. Check the article out at American Spectator.

What Some Risk Their Lives to Do, Others Refrain from Freely

It is baffling that there are mainline Protestants in America who for politically correct reasons refrain from confessing Christ as the Son of God. They do so freely without coercion. How differently Christians elsewhere react when asked to refrain from referring to Christ as the Son of God in their worship.

Unexpected Consequences

The plight of Christians in Iraq reveals a trend in American foreign policy which sides with “moderate” Islam and abandons Christians to the whims of Islamists. The same pattern can be seen in Bosnia and Kosovo. There resistance to Muslims ethnically cleansing areas of Christians led the US to side with the terrorists who continue to destroy and desecrate Christian churches which witnessed to the faith for centuries. A recent article in American Spectator highlights the unexpected consequences of our policy in Iraq.
